Know what all features, engines and variants the new 2014 Honda City will come up with

The Japanese carmaker, Honda will launch the new 2014 Honda City sedan in India on January 7, 2014. The bookings for the car has already been started and one can book it by paying just Rs. 50,000. While buyers across the nation are eagerly waiting for the sedan, the features and variants of the car has been leaked on the interweb today.

The new Honda City will be made available in five trim levels in both the petrol and diesel models – E, S, SV, V and VX. For the first time, this lovable model will get the diesel engine, with which the new City will become country’s most fuel efficient car. The petrol model will continue to be powered by the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that churns out a maximum power output of 117bhp, while the other model has the 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine producing 98bhp. This engine is expected to offer a mind blowing fuel efficiency of 26kmpl. While the petrol City will be offered in five-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmission, the diesel variant gets the six-speed manual gearbox.

All the variants of the new Honda City diesel will come with Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with EBD and a driver airbag as standard, except the base petrol model Additionally, three top-of-the line models will feature dual Airbags for both driver and front passenger.

The top three trims will get the automatic climate control with touch controls and air-con vents for rear seats, while the entry level trims will feature the manual air conditioner. The high end trims of the new 2014 Honda City comes equipped with 5-inch display, 8-speaker audio system with a CD player and reverse camera. The mid S and SV trims of the car will feature an integrated 4-speaker system, but these models misses out on a CD player and the camera. The audio systems are compatible with USB, AUX-in, Bluetooth and steering mounted controls.

The high models come equipped with alloy wheels, front fog lamps and power outlets at the rear seats. Moreover, the VX model gets chrome door handles, push button start, sunroof and keyless entry and others.
