New Hero Karizma XMR Engine Details Revealed

The new Hero Karizma XMR 210 is set to make its world debut on August 29, 2023. With the aim of creating buzz among enthusiasts, the indigenous two-wheeler maker is continuously releasing new teasers that reveal intriguing details. This time, the company has confirmed that the new Karizma XMR will feature a 210cc engine with a DOHC (dual overhead camshaft) configuration.

No further details have been disclosed, but it’s likely that the engine will be a liquid-cooled unit with a short-stroke layout. The power and torque outputs will be officially unveiled in the coming days. According to reports, it’s expected to deliver a maximum power of 25PS and a peak torque of 20Nm. Transmission duties will be handled by a 6-speed gearbox. The new Hero Karizma will be built on a new platform, which includes a steel trellis frame and a box-style swingarm.

The bike’s suspension setup will consist of conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock setup at the rear. Stopping power will come from front and rear disc brakes. An exceptional feature is that the new Karizma will be Hero’s first motorcycle equipped with a dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). Read: New Hero 440cc Bike Debut By March 2024

Official teasers have already revealed its captivating silhouette, along with a well-proportioned fuel tank featuring striking angular lines and ‘XMR’ graphics. The bike will sport an LED headlight, a pointed fairing with integrated mirrors, and an expansive windscreen at the front. It will also feature an ergonomically placed clip-on handlebar, a two-part seat configuration, LED taillights, and a neatly integrated rear section. The new Karizma will come equipped with an LCD instrument cluster.

Continuing its tradition of competitively pricing its products, Hero MotoCorp is expected to price the new Karizma around Rs 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom). This strategic pricing places it in direct competition with the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 (Rs 1.92 lakh – Rs 2.02 lakh) and the Yamaha R15 V4 (Rs 1.81 lakh – Rs 1.94 lakh).
