Toyota Rumion To Go On Sale In A Few Days – Variants Explained

Toyota Kirloskar Motor is all set to enter the compact MPV segment with its re-badged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga – the Rumion. All of its variant details, specifications, and features have already been revealed by the carmaker. What remains are its prices, which are slated to be announced in the coming days (possibly in the first week of September 2023). This will be the fourth re-badged Maruti Suzuki model from Toyota, and it’s claimed to be high on fuel efficiency and offer ample cabin space.

The new Rumion MPV will be made available with the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine and CNG fuel options. The gasoline motor, which is the same as the one that powers the Ertiga, delivers power worth 103bhp and 137Nm of torque. Its CNG version is good enough for 88bhp and 121.5Nm. There will be two choices for transmissions – a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Mileage figures stand at 20.51kmpl (petrol) and 26.11kg/km (CNG).

Toyota Rumion Variants

The Toyota Rumion model lineup is spread across three trims – S, G, and V. The entry-level S trim can be had with both petrol and CNG fuel options, while the G and V come with the 1.5L petrol-manual combination. The automatic transmission is reserved for the V trim, along with features such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel, key-operated retractable wing mirrors, auto headlamps, front side airbags, cruise control, and a rear parking camera. The G trim gets a fair share of equipment, such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, Toyota connected car tech, climate control, two tweeters, teak wood finish on the dashboard and front door trims, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, engine push start/stop, fabric upholstery, dual-tone fabric upholstery, a central sliding armrest with storage for the front row, height-adjustable front seatbelts, dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, rear washer, wiper, and defogger.

The entry-level S trim of the Toyota Rumion comes with some basic goodies, including dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, a seat belt reminder, hill hold assist, ESC, Isofix child seat mounts, 3-speed AC for the second row, 12V power sockets in the first and second row, 4 speakers, steering-mounted controls, and bottle holders in all rows, etc. The MPV comes in five colour options include – Enticing Silver, Rustic Brown, Spunky Blue, Iconic Grey and Café White.
