New Hero Karizma XMR Closer to Launch; Design Patent Leaked

Hero MotoCorp is set to make a big impact in the two-wheeler segment with its upcoming models. Recently, the company unveiled its first product through its partnership with Harley-Davidson, known as the X440. This bike is now available for purchase at Hero’s premium dealerships nationwide. In addition to this, the indigenous two-wheeler manufacturer has a new 125cc bike in the pipeline, which aims to rival the TVS Raider, the new Karizma XMR, and the Harley-Davidson X440-based bike.

Looking specifically at the 2023 Hero Karizma XMR, this iconic model is making a comeback with a fresh design, advanced technology, and a new engine. Before its official launch, the company has filed a design patent for the new Karizma XMR. Excitingly, the leaked design patent images reveal a production-ready design that appears aerodynamic, featuring an aggressive front fairing and muscular fuel tank. Notable features include LED headlamps and taillamps, a split seat, raised handlebars, a sleeker tail section, and an exhaust system. Although specific details about the new 2023 Hero Karizma XMR are yet to be disclosed, it is expected to offer tubeless tires, a fully digital instrument cluster, and ABS (anti-lock braking system).

2023 Hero Karizma Design

In an effort to continue the Karizma’s legacy, Hero MotoCorp may equip the bike with a powerful and refined engine. Rumors suggest that an all-new 210cc engine capable of producing 25bhp power and 30Nm of torque might be used. Transmission duties will be handled by a 6-speed gearbox. For suspension, the bike is likely to feature conventional telescopic front forks and a monoshock suspension at the rear.

As for pricing, the new 2023 Hero Karizma XMR is expected to start around Rs 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom). Once available, it will present a formidable challenge to the Yamaha YZF-R15 and Suzuki Gixxer SF 250.

In addition to the Karizma XMR, Hero MotoCorp is also developing a new 400cc bike based on the recently launched Harley-Davidson X440. Although its design will differ slightly from its donor sibling, it will share the same platform, features, components, and engine. The new 400cc bike is anticipated to arrive in the first half of 2024.
