The Indo-Japanese automaker recently launched the second-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio hatchback at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The automaker plans to give a generation change and mid-life updates to its popular models including the XL6 MPV, Baleno hatchback, Vitara Brezza SUV, Alto hatchback, Ciaz sedan and Ertiga MPV. All these models will hit road sometime next year. The next big launch from Maruti Suzuki will be the new-generation Vitara Brezza compact SUV that’s currently in its testing phase.
One of the major updates that will be made to the 2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza will be its new underpinning. If reports are to be believed, the SUV will ditch its existing platform for the new Heartect architecture. Most of the cosmetic changes are likely to be made at the front and rear ends. Interior could be revised with a new design theme along with a bunch of new goodies. There might be a newly-designed dashboard with a new central console and a new instrument cluster. The SUV could also get an updated touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with voice recognition.
With the generation change, the new 2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza might receive the factory-fitted electric sunroof. Though, it could be reserved for the higher trims. Rumour has it that the new Vitara Brezza could be offered with the 1.5L K15B petrol engine boosted with stronger 48V hybrid system. The gasoline unit makes a top power of 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. The new 2022 Maruti Vitara Brezzza could also receive a CNG variant making power close to 91bhp and 112Nm of torque. Transmission choices might include a 5-speed manual (standard) and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
