New Gen Suzuki S-Cross Launch In 2022; Swift In 2023

Japanese car manufacturer, Suzuki has reportedly revealed its future products plan for the European markets. The company’s global new global cars are also expected to be launched in our market in the near future. Adding to it, India will remain a big volume market for the Japanese brand.

The new report claims that Suzuki is working on the next generation Vitara SUV, which will receive a 1.5-litre petrol hybrid powertrain. The SUV will come with a 4WD system and will be launched in 2022. Adding to it, Suzuki will introduce the new S-Cross crossover in 2022. Suzuki Jimny off-roader will receive a comprehensive upgrade in 2024. Before this, the brand will launch the LWB Jimny in 2022.

Next-gen S-Cross – The new crossover is reportedly to be offered with two engine options – a 1.4-litre Boosterjet 4-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.5-litre K15B 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a mild hybrid system. The 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine currently powers the Swift Sport, and will also power the Jimny LWB. The naturally-aspirated engine is offered with the outgoing S-Cross, and is capable of producing 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. Transmission choices includes a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor. Instead of 4-speed torque convertor, the next-gen S-Cross could receive a 6-speed AT.

The 1.4L Boosterjet engine is capable of producing 127bhp of power and a peak torque of 235Nm. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. Suzuki is reportedly working on adding a mild hybrid system with this powertrain. The same engine will also power the Jimny 5-door model for the European markets.

2022 Maruti Swift Launch

New-gen Swift – The current Swift hatchback was introduced in 2016, and is already 5 years old. The company is reportedly planning to launch the new generation Swift in 2023. The new model is likely to come with a stronger hybrid system. The standard variant will be offered with a 1.2-litre K-Series DualJet petrol engine that also powers the Dzire. The vehicle will also receive a stronger 48V mild hybrid system.
