The Skoda Octavia RS245, the performance-oriented sedan from the Czech automaker, might get a generation change in India sometime next year. Similar to the current generation, the new one will come via CBU (Completely Built Up) route and retailed in limited numbers. At present, the performance sedan costs Rs 35.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Noticeable changes have been made to its exterior and interior. For performing transmission duties, the hot sedan will have a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. It will come with the FWD (front-wheel drive) system. Globally, the new Octavia RS245 is offered with three powertrains – 245bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol, 200bhp, 2.0L turbo diesel and 1.4L petrol with hybrid system. Compared to the previous diesel model, the new unit is 16bhp more powerful. The turbo hybrid setup offers a combined power of 241bhp and 400Nm of torque.
The new 2022 Skoda Octavia RS 245 comes with Dynamic Chassis Control along with the customized suspension setup and steering unit. Features such as bigger brakes and a lower ride height further enhance its performance.
Visually, the 2022 Skoda Octavia RS245 appears sportier than before. The blacked out treatment on the front grille, air dams, wing mirrors, diffuser and rear boot lip spoiler add more to its revised looks. The front bumper and fog lamps have also been redesigned. Other design highlights include sleek LED headlamps, black inserts on the side skirts, black roof, black alloy wheels and smoked LED taillamps. Unlike the regular model, the new 2022 Skoda Octavia RS 245 has dual-tone interior theme with contrast stitching. In terms of features, the hot sedan offers a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED ambient lighting, a three-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, electric boot, local traffic warning, new collision avoidance assist, keyless entry, turn assist and exit warning, and more.
