All-New Nissan Kicks 1st Spy Images – More Details Emerge

It is reported that Nissan is preparing a new mid-sized SUV, which will replace the Kicks SUV in our market. Interestingly, the all-new Nissan Kicks has been spotted testing for the first time in foreign soil. The spotted model is heavily covered in thick cloth; however, it appears in the final stages of testing.

The India-spec Nissan Kicks is based on the Renault-Nissan alliance’s M0 platform that underpins the Duster and the Captur. On the other hand, the global-spec model is based on the V-platform that underpins the Micra hatchback. The next-gen Nissan Kicks and the next Renault Duster will be based on the modular CMF-B platform.

The next-gen Nissan Kicks will come with a much more aggressive design language. Compared to the global-spec model, the new Kicks come with a more upright stance with a flatter front. Similar to the new X-Trail and Juke, the all-new Nissan Kicks has a two-part front grille and a split headlamp set-up. It has a raked windscreen and the flat-ish tailgate with vertically stacked tail-lamps.

The all-new Nissan Kicks will be designed and developed on the Renault-Nissan alliance’s CMF-B modular platform. This platform currently underpins several global SUVs from Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi. In fact, the architecture will be used to develop the next Duster, a new 7-seater SUV based on the Bigster concept and a new 7-seater SUV from Nissan.

This architecture also has an electric derivative, called the CMF-B EV. The CMF-B modular platform is compatible with different body styles and multiple engine options.

The next-gen Kicks is expected to feature Nissan’s e-Power hybrid powertrain that comprises a 1.5L petrol engine with an electric motor and battery. The e-motor drives the wheels, while the combustion engine acts as a generator.
