The new-generation Hyundai i20 will be the next big launch from the South Korean carmaker in the country. While its official launch date and details are yet to be confirmed, it’s reported to arrive in the first week of November, 2020. In fact, select Hyundai dealers have started accepting bookings for the hatchback’s new-generation model. According to a latest media report, the 2020 Hyundai i20 model lineup will be offered in four trims – Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O).
With the generation change, the premium hatchback will witness comprehensive exterior and interior upgrades along with a new set of engines. The all-new i20 will be offered with three engine options – 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol (82bhp), 1.0L turbo petrol (99bhp) and 1.5L diesel (99bhp). There will be multiple gearboxes to choose from including a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque convertor automatic, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission).
Hyundai will equip the new-generation i20 with lots of new goodies including a massive 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The hatchback will also come with the Hyundai BlueLink connected car technology along with features such as Bose 8-speaker sound system, air purifier with virus protection, leather wrapped steering wheel, a digital instrument console and more. Major changes will also be made to its exterior. The 2020 Hyundai i20 carries more angular creases and cuts on the nose, doors and fenders. Hyundai’s blacked-out cascading grille with diamond-pattern mesh design enhances its new aggressive looks. The triangle-shaped fog lamps appear similar to the updated Elantra. The premium hatchback will also get large taillamp with angular Z-shaped LED inserts.
