New 2023 Tata Nexon EV – What We Know So Far

We have test-driven the new 2023 Tata Nexon facelift and have shared both its strengths and weaknesses with you. Bookings for the vehicle are already in progress, and its prices are scheduled to be revealed on September 14, 2023. The new 2023 Tata Nexon EV facelift is also set to make its debut on September 7, 2023, under Tata Motors’ new brand identity, Tata.ev, joining the electric Tiago and Tigor models. While there are significant exterior and interior changes, the powertrains will remain unchanged. Here’s a look at some key details:

Trims & Variants:

Reports suggest that the Nexon EV facelift will introduce a new naming convention, with Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR) suffixes replacing the Prime and Max trims. These two categories are expected to be further divided into four trims: Smart, Pure, Creative, and Fearless, potentially featuring additional ‘+’, and ‘(O)’ variants.

Design Changes:

The cosmetic updates will align with the ICE-powered Nexon’s design. The electric version is expected to feature L-shaped LED DRLs beneath the bonnet, silver skid plates, roof rails, a black shark-fin antenna, new alloy wheels, and Y-shaped LED taillamps with an LED light bar. The top-end Fearless variant may introduce a Purple color scheme.

Feature Upgrades:

Inside, the Nexon EV facelift will receive a new two-spoke steering wheel inspired by the Curvv design philosophy, as well as a new touchscreen layout. The AC vents will be more angular and slimmer, and the dashboard will have leather inserts with a carbon-fiber-like finish.

The cabin will house a free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Expect features like connected car technology, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, an air purifier, electronic stability control, 6 airbags, and Isofix mounts.

Powertrains:

The Nexon EV will continue to offer the existing battery pack options: a 30.2kWh and a 40.5kWh version. These powertrains have helped Tata establish itself in the electric vehicle segment, offering a range of choices to suit different driving needs and budgets.
