Tata Motors recently declared its decision not to pursue hybrid vehicles, focusing solely on the proliferation of EVs for passenger vehicles. In pursuit of this goal, the automaker is set to invest Rs 8,000 crore in its standalone business during fiscal year 2024 and an approximate USD 2 billion in its EV business through its subsidiary, Tata.ev. The launch timeline for four new electric cars has been confirmed, including the updated Nexon EV, Punch EV, Harrier EV, and Curvv EV, all anticipated to hit the roads by early next year.

The highly anticipated 2023 Tata Nexon EV is scheduled for release on September 14, 2023. While maintaining its current powertrain configuration, the electric SUV will incorporate Curvv-inspired alterations both inside and out. Notable interior enhancements consist of a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a novel digital instrument cluster, a new two-spoke steering wheel, Curvv-style touch-based HVAC controls, a redesigned dashboard, and sleeker AC vents.

Simultaneously, the conventional Nexon facelift will feature the prevailing 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines, complemented by a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox, potentially paired with a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine. Some of its design changes will include a new, slimmer grille, pronounced C-shaped protrusions housing for the fog lamps and headlamps, new headlights and LED DRLs, a new set of dual-tone alloy wheels and a flatter rear profile.
