TVS Motor Company has finally launched the much-awaited Apache RTR 310 naked sport bike at a starting price of Rs 2.43 lakh. The new motorcycle will directly rival the likes of the BMW G310R and the new KTM 390 Duke and the upcoming Yamaha MT-03. The new motorcycle has edgy and sharp design, featuring sharp tank extensions and minimalist tail section.
The new TVS Apache RTR 310 is launched in 3 variants – Arsenal Black (without quickshifter), Arsenal Black and Fury Yellow – priced at Rs 2.43 lakh, Rs 2.58 lakh and Rs 2.64 lakh (ex-showroom India) respectively. The BTO (Built To Order) is offered in 3 kits – Dynamic Kit, Dynamic Pro Kit and Sepang Blue – priced at Rs 18,000, Rs 22,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
The new motorcycle is based on the new trellis frame with a new rear subframe and new split seat setup. The motorcycle also gets newly styled alloy wheels. It comes with a new horizontally mounted dash for instrumentation; as a reminder, the RR310 and G310R comes with vertically stacked dashboard. It features a TFT display, which has multiple connectivity features.
The bike has trapezoidal mirrors that looks different from the fully-faired sibling. The new Apache RTR 310 comes fitted with several segment-first features such as cruise control, 5 ride modes, dynamic headlamps, climate control seat, dynamic twin tail lamp, bi directional quickshifter, Race Tuned dynamic stability control and tyre pressure monitoring system.
The motorcycle comes with cornering ABS, traction control, and TFT display with GoPro compatibility. Similar to the RR310, the new RTR 310 also gets BTO kit as an optional. It offers 3 different kits – Dynamic Kit, Dynamic Pro Kit and Race livery. The dynamic kit offers adjustable suspension, TPMS & brass coated drive chain, while the Dynamic Pro kit offers Race Tuned dynamic stability control and climate control seat.
The 5-inch TFT cluster comes with multiple connectivity. It has 5 unique display themes, day & night themes, and intuitive UI/UX.The TFT display has a TVS connect APP that offers multiple functions including multimedia, telemetry, voice assist and tyre pressure monitoring system.
TVS has also introduced merchandise with the new Apache RTR 310 that includes Riding Gear, Lifestyle Gear and Motorcycle badges/souvenir. Customers can also opt for multiple accessories categorised in 3 segments – safety, touring and tech.
TVS customers can also opt for annual maintenance contract that offers package based discount, pickup & drop along with extended warranty package. It also comes with roadside assistance package that offers refreshment for stranded spares & helmet assist and mobile charging & document assist.
The new TVS Apache RTR 310 comes with adjustable front & rear suspensions with 30% rebound damping. The front suspension also compression damping of 30%. It comes with dual compound radial tyres, which claims to offer excellent road grip.
Powering the motorcycle is a 312.2cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine that produces 34PS of power and 27.3Nm of torque. The power and torque drops to 25.8PS and 25Nm in Urban and Rain modes. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. It is claimed to achieve 0-60kmph in just 2.81 seconds before hitting a top speed of 150kmph.
