Deliveries of the all-new Force Gurkha SUV have been commenced across the nation. Prices of the model lineup were announced in the last week of September 2021. The compact off-road SUV has been made available at a starting price of Rs 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom). Under the hood, the 2021 Force Gurkha features the upgraded version of the 2.6L diesel engine that did duty in the old model. The motor pushes out a peak power of 91bhp and 250Nm of torque.
One must note that the Gurkha Xtreme variant with 140bhp, 2.2L diesel engine has been dropped from the model lineup. The SUV continue to come with the 4WD (four-wheel drive) system with low range and manual locking front and rear differentials. No changes have been made to its suspension setup. Though, the unit is claimed to offer better ride quality. The automaker says that the new Gurkha has a wading depth of 700mm and is capable to traverse slopes with a grade of up to 35 degrees.
Unlike the model previewed at the 2019 Auto Expo that has dual-tone interior, the launched model has monotone dark grey theme. The new 2021 Force Gurkha has a newly-designed dashboard and a touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth. The list of features also include individual armrests for the rear seats, tilt and telescopic adjust steering, power windows, USB charging sockets for all four passengers, AC unit, central locking, LED headlamps with DRLs, cornering lamps, fog lamps etc. The new 2021 Force Gurkha is said to meet all the existing safety standards with features such as a tyre pressure monitoring, ABS (anti-lock braking system), dual airbags and Isofix child seat anchors. The SUV offers front facing captain seats for the rear passengers, which are equipped with a lap style seat belt.
