2021 Force Gurkha Launched; Price Rs 13.59 Lakh, Bookings Open At 25K

The long-awaited new-gen 2021 Force Gurkha has finally been launched in the Indian market at Rs 13.59 lakh. At this price tag, the new Gurkha undercut the prices of its direct rival – the Mahindra Thar (Priced Between Rs 12.98 lakh and Rs 15.08 Lakh). Deliveries for the SUV is scheduled from October 15 (Dussehra Festival). Interested buyers can pre-book the SUV at a token amount of Rs 25,000.

Built on the modular architecture platform, the 2021 Force Gurkha is now longer and wider than its previous model. The lifestyle SUV is offered in five exterior colour options – Red, Orange, White, Green and Grey. In terms of proportions, the new Gurkha is 4,116mm long, 1,812mm wide and 2,075mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,400mm. Compared to the previous model, the new Gurkha is 124mm longer, 22mm wider and 20mm taller. The SUV offers a turning radius of 5.65 meters.

The new Gurkha is powered by a 2.6-litre Mercedes-derived common-rail, direct injection turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of producing 91bhp of power and 250Nm of torque between 1,400-2,400rpm. This powertrain is paired to a 5-speed Mercedes G-28 transmission with cable shift and a hydraulically activated clutch with a booster for smooth shifts. This BS6 compliant engine has no need for Ad Blue, as it meets the new emission norms using the Lean NOX trap.

Warranty

Force Motors India is giving a standard warranty of 1.5 lakh kms or 3 years and four free services with the new Gurkha. The company has joined hands with the Auto Europa India, which has over 6,200 touchpoints for on-road assistance. Customers can also opt for several accessories & merchandise with the new Gurkha.

The new Gurkha retains the original classic and rugged boxy style. The front has a bold Gurkha logo, which replaces the F-logo offered on the previous model. It is the only vehicle in its segment to offer full LED Force Pro Edge headlamps – comprises of Pilot Lamps, Low Beam and High Beam. The SUV also has jewel-like circular DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps) and LED indicators mounted on front fenders.

The SUV has thick wheel arches and side step rails. It rides on 16-inch steel wheels. There is a 4x4x4 badge on the side, which signifies the all-terrain and all-weather capability of the new Force Gurkha.

The new Force Gurkha is a 4-seater, 3-door SUV; offering captain seats for all four occupants. The company claims that the new Gurkha offers segment-leading legroom, headroom and elbow room for the passengers. It features a new midnight black interior and new advanced features such as a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support along with navigation. The Gurkha also offers a luggage carrying capacity of 500-litres.

The SUV also has charging ports for all four occupants. In terms of features, the new Gurkha gets a tilt & telescopic steering, power windows, central locking, tyre pressure monitoring system, single-piece rear door with wipers, variable intermittent speed front wipers, cornering lamps, rear parking sensors and others.
