MG Motor India has showcased its new MG6 sedan at the ongoing Indian Auto Expo. The company has also showcased the MG5 electric estate, MG4 electric hatchback, Air 2-door EV and the new Hector at the auto event. This Skoda Octavia-sized sedan is currently on sale in Middle Eastern and South Asian countries.
Dimensions
In terms of proportions, the MG 6 is 4694mm in length, 1848mm in width and 1465mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2715mm. The sedan has a kerb weight of 1320-litres and a fuel tank of 50-litres capacity. In the Middle East, the sedan is available in 3 wheel sizes – 16-inch alloy, 17-inch dual colour alloy and 18-inch dual colour alloy. The MG 6 sedan has a boot space of 424-litres, which can be further expanded to 1170-litres by folding the rear seats.
MG 6 Sedan Specs
The MG6 underpinned by a platform from parent company SAIC and is available with a single 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing 169bhp of power at 5500rpm and a peak torque of 250Nm between 1700-4300rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. MG 6 Sedan Features
The MG6 sedan comes fitted with multiple high-end comfort and convenience features including leather seats, 6-way electric adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way electrically adjustable front passenger seats, 60/40 split folding rear seat, leather steering wheel, etc. Other features include electric sunroof, keyless entry + push button start, auto AC system with dual zone climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 6 speakers, Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth.
For safety and security, the sedan gets ABS with EBD, cornering brake control, brake assistance system, electronic stability program, tyre pressure monitoring system, 6 airbags, rear parking camera, etc.
In terms of styling, the new MG6 sedan gets a premium looking front fascia. It features the traditional chrome-studded MG grille with chrome surround and MG logo placed in the centre of the grille. It comes with stylish LED headlamp setup with auto leveling and headlight washer function.
The sedan gets a sloping roof to give it a fastback-like profile, shark fin antenna and electric sunroof. It gets wraparound LED tail-lights, chrome bar running across the width with MG badge placed right above it, and strong creases around lower bumper.
