MG Motor India has reported a negative sales growth of 11.4 per cent in the month of August 2022. The company sold 3,823 units in August 2022 as against 4,315 units in the same month last year. MG said that the volatility in supply chains continues to cause many production challenges, however, this is expected to improve from next month onwards.
In a statement, MG Motor India said, ” In order to meet growing customer demand, the company has proactively undertaken multiple initiatives including localisation and the introduction of executive vehicle variants in its product mix.”
The company has said that it continues to have a strong order book with a positive outlook for the upcoming launches. MG has recently launched the new Gloster SUV, which comes with improved interior and advanced features. The SUV is available a starting price of Rs 31.99 lakh. MG Motor India is expected to double the sales of the Gloster model.
MG has also announced to launch the next-gen Hector before the end of this year. The new model will come with significant design changes and upgraded interior. It will continue to be offered with the 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. The company said that the MG ZS EV also continues its promising run underscoring MG’s commitment to strengthening the EV ecosystem in India.
New MG Hector
MG Motor India has released teaser images of the new Hector SUV. It will come with new chrome grille, revised headlamps and tail-lamp unit and new set of alloys. The biggest update will be made inside the cabin. It will come with a new 14-inch, portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system, revised dashboard design, wireless smartphone connectivity, connected car tech, a digital key & a personal AI assistant. It will also come with the Level 2 ADAS system with features like emergency braking system, parking assist with blind spot detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, radar based adaptive cruise control and more.
