MG Hector Anniversary Edition Launched With 4 New Features

Morris Garages marked its India entry with the Hector SUV that was launched in June 2019 at a starting price of Rs 12.18 lakh (ex-showroom). Within first year of its arrival, the carmaker managed to sell over 22,500 units of the SUV. In order to commemorate its one successful year, the company has launched the MG Hector anniversary edition in the country. Available only in the Super trim, the new limited edition has been priced at Rs 12.63 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 14.99 lakh for the diesel model. All prices are ex-showroom, India. The MG Hector anniversary edition has been equipped with some extra features including a 26.4cm display screen, air purifier, a Medklinn in-car kit and wireless mobile charger. As mentioned above, the limited edition is based on the Super trim, it offers features such as LED taillamps, LED rear fog lamps, 10.4-inch touchsreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, 4 speakers audio system with two tweeters, chrome interior door handles, cruise control, rear parking camera, rear AC vents, front and rear disc brakes, electronic stability programe, reverse parking sensors and Isofix mounting points on the second row.

MG Hector Diesel Automatic

Similar to the regular model, the MG Hector anniversary edition comes with 1.5L turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engines delivering power worth 141bhp with 250Nm and 168bhp with 350Nm respectively. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard across the model lineup. At present, the MG Hector petrol comes in the price range of Rs 12.83 lakh – Rs 17.55 lakh and the diesel variants cost between Rs 13.99 lakh – Rs 17.88 lakh (all, ex-showroom).

The British carmaker is ready to roll out its flagship SUV – Gloster – in October, 2020. Estimated to be priced from Rs 35 lakh, the new MG premium 7-seater SUV will challenge dominance of the Toyota Fortuner. It will also take on the Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4. The carmaker has confirmed that the MG Gloster will be packed with several segment-first safety features including the autonomous park assist system.
