Bajaj Chetak-based Husqvarna Electric Scooter Launch Next Year

Early this year, Husqvarna Motorcycles marked its entry in the Indian market with the Vitpilen 250 café racer-styled bike and Svartpilen 250 scrambler. Both models were launched at a special introductory price of Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Now, the Swedish two-wheeler maker is planning to foray into electric scooter and bike segment with the Husqvarna E-01 and Husqvarna E-Pilen respectively. As of now, there is no official word on their India launch.

According to a presentation by Pierer Mobility, the Husqvarna E-01 electric scooter will have its world premiere sometime next year. The Husqvarna E-Pilen electric bike, on the other hand, will see a release in 2022. The presentation also reveals the concept pictures and details of the upcoming electric models. Both vehicles will underpin the same EV platform and produced at Baja Auto’s Chakan based plant near Pune.

Talking about the Husqvarna E-01, the new electric scooter will carry futuristic design with sharp creases. The concept has dual-tone colour scheme (Black and Silver) with fluorescent highlights. The model might be designed on the Bajaj Chetak’s platform, but it’s likely to offer better performance and electric range. It will feature a 4kW electric motor. We expect it to come with conventional alloy wheels, conventional suspension setup, smartphone connectivity, a colour instrument console, front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS and more.

Husqvarna E-Pilen, the upcoming electric bike from the Swedish two-wheeler maker, will be offered with two electric motors – 4kW and 10kW. It will have modular battery system. Similar to the Husqvarna E-01, the electric bike concept is pained in Black and Silver shades with neon highlight around the engine case. It’s likely to come with upside down fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike will ride on 4-spoke alloy wheels and have front and rear disc brakes.
