The long-awaited MG Gloster is all set to hit the Indian roads on 7th October, 2020. The new model will be offered in petrol and diesel guise. Interested buyers can pre-book the premium SUV online or via dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 1 lakh. The new model will come in 6-and-7-seat option. The new MG Gloster will be offered in 4 trim levels – Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy.
The MG Gloster Super variant will come in 7-seat option only. This model gets 7 airbags, ESP, traction control, hill start assist, hill descent control, ABS with EBD, brake assist, rear-view camera, 4-wheel disc brakes, drive fatigue monitor and rear and front parking sensors.
In terms of features, the Gloster Super gets electrically adjustable, foldable and heated ORVMs, automatic headlamps with DRLs, rain sensing wipers, front and rear fog lamps, part-leatherette upholstery, cruise control, 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry and go, manual AC, engine start/stop, and middle row slide/recline function. This variant rides on 19-inch alloys and features 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
MG Gloster Smart – This variant will come as a 6-seater SUV. It gets captain seats for the second-row of passengers. In terms of features, this variant gets cornering lamps, brown leatherette seats with diamond stitching, 8-inch MID, ambient lighting, infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, sunroof, 12-way powered driver’s seat, powered tailgate with hands free opening, 3-zone climate control, windows with one-touch function, tyre pressure monitor and I-Smart connected car technology.
MG Gloster Sharp – It will be offered in 6- and 7-seat options. This model has all the features that are accessible in the Smart and Super variants. Adding to it, the Sharp variant gets electronic locking rear differential, blind-spot detection, 360 degree camera, 64-cololur ambient lighting, premium 12-speaker audio system, Panoramic sunroof, shift-on-fly 4WD with 7-drive modes, driver seat with memory, heating and ventilation function, co-passengers’ seat is electrically adjustable, wireless phone charger, wing mirror with memory function, etc.
MG Gloster Savvy – This is the top-spec model offered as a 6-seater premium SUV. It gets features like forward collision warning, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and hands free parking.
It will be offered in 4 exterior colour options – Warm White, Metal Black, Metal Ash and Agate Red. The SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that offers two states of tunes. The Super and Smart trims get single-turbo diesel engine with 2WD system, offering 163bhp and 375Nm. The Gloster Sharp and Savvy gets more powerful twin-turbocharged engine with shift-on-the-fly 4WD. This engine produces 218bhp and 480Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
