Morris Garages has increased the prices of its flagship SUV, the Gloster, which was launched on October 8, 2020. The introductory prices were valid for the first 2,000 units or until October 31, 2020. The prices of the new MG Gloster SUV have been increased by up to Rs 1 lakh, and the vehicle is now available at a starting price of Rs 29.98 lakh.

The 7-seater premium SUV has been receiving an overwhelming response from buyers. The SUV has received 2,000 bookings in just 3 weeks. The Gloster is being offered in four trim levels – Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy. The new model was priced between Rs 28.98 lakh and Rs 35.38 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The base variant of the MG Gloster, called the Super received a price hike of Rs 1 lakh. The prices of the Smart and Sharp variants are raised by Rs 50,000 and 30,000 respectively. The top-spec Gloster Savvy has been least affected, as it only receive a price hike of Rs 20,000. However, the new prices continue to include MG’s Shield after sales customisation package, which costs Rs 50,000.
It is equipped with the brand’s iSmart connected car technology, which now offers 70 advanced features. The SUV also gets ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistant System), which includes adaptive cruise control, automatic parking assist, forward collision braking, automatic emergency braking (AEB), blind spot detection (BSD) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).
The company is offering two diesel engine options with the new MG Gloster – a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel and a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel. While the former is good for 163PS of power and 375Nm of torque, the twin-turbocharged unit produces 218PS and 480Nm of torque. Both powertrains are coupled to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Gloster with 163bhp, 2.0L engine comes with 2WD system, the 2.0L twin-turbo unit gets 4WD drivetrain.
The new MG Gloster is fitted with over 30 standard safety and security features such as 6 airbags, 360 around view camera, ESP, traction control system, ABS with EBD and brake assist, EDL (Electro-Mechanical Differential Lock), Hill Hold and Descent control, Roll Movement Intervention (RMI), Electric Parking Brake with Autohold, etc.
