Launched in the second week of October 2020, the MG Gloster has been garnering good response from buyers. The proof of it lies in the fact that the premium 7-seater SUV has received 2,000 bookings in just 3 weeks of its arrival in the market. The information comes from Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India. He also revealed that the company sold 3,725 units of the MG Hectors in the last month, which is highest ever since its launch.
The Gloster is being offered in four trim levels – Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy – priced from Rs 28.98 lakh to Rs 35.38 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The SUV comes with two diesel engines – 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel and twin-turbo – delivering power worth 163bhp with 375Nm and 218bhp with 480Nm respectively. While the former is only available in the Super and Smart trims, the latter is offered on the higher Sharp and Savvy trims. The twin-turbo motor comes with on-demand four-wheel drive with selectable drive modes. Both motors are available with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The entry-level Super trim is available with a 7-seats layout with a bench seat in the second row. It has been equipped with lots of standard features including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 6-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, electronic stability program, 6 airbags, hill hold, traction control, cruise control, auto headlamps and wipers and many more. The fully-loaded Savvy trim comes with 6-seater configuration with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite that includes lane departure warning, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and hands free parking. The list of features also includes MG’s i-Smart connected car tech, 3-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 12 speaker audio system, blind spot monitoring system, a 360 degree parking cameras, a powered driver’s seat with heating, ventilation, massage and memory functions and so on.
