MG Motors has again increased the prices of its flagship SUV, MG Gloster in the Indian market. The SUV gets expensive by up to Rs 80,000; however, the price of the base Gloster remains the same.
Launched in October 2020, the MG Gloster has received a positive response from buyers. The SUV was launched at an introductory price tag of Rs 28.98 lakh for base model and Rs 35.38 lakh for the top-end model. These prices were valid for the first 2,000 units or until October 31, 2020. The company had raised the prices of the vehicle by up to Rs 1 lakh.
This is the second price hike for the new Gloster in the past 4-5 months. The MG Gloster is available in 4 variants – Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy, in 6 and 7-seater options. The SUV is now available in the price bracket of Rs 29.98 lakh to Rs 36.88 lakh (ex-showroom).

The MG Gloster Smart 6-seater prices has been increased by Rs 50,000, and is now available at Rs 31.98 lakh. The 7-seater Sharp and 6-seater Sharp variants are now available at Rs 35.38 lakh, as the prices are increased by INR 70,000. The top-spec Gloster Savvy 6-seater is now priced at Rs 36.88 lakh, which is again a price hike of Rs 80,000.
MG Gloster Key Details
The Gloster is equipped with MG’s iSmart connected car technology, which offers 70 advanced features. It also comes equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistant System), which offers features like adaptive cruise control, automatic parking assist, forward collision braking, automatic emergency braking (AEB), blind spot detection (BSD) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).
For passengers’ safety and security, the MG Gloster gets 6 airbags, 360 degree around view camera, ESP, traction control system, ABS with EBD and brake assist, EDL (Electro-Mechanical Differential Lock), Hill Hold and Descent control, Roll Movement Intervention (RMI), Electric Parking Brake with Autohold, etc.
The MG Gloster is available with two diesel engine options – a 2.0L turbocharged and a 2.0L Twin-Turbo. While the former is good for for 163PS of power and 375Nm of torque, the twin-turbocharged unit produces 218PS and 480Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is offered as standard.
