MG Gloster (Fortuner, Endeavour Rival) Coming Tomorrow

MG Motors has officially announced to unveil the much-awaited Gloster full-sized SUV in the Indian market tomorrow. The MG Gloster was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is basically the re-badged Maxus D90 SUV, which is on sale in the Chinese market.

The MG Gloster will be introduced as a premium alternative to the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4. The SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, twin-turbo diesel engine that is capable of producing 215bhp of power and 480Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. MG Gloster will also offer four driving modes – Rock, Sand, Mud and Snow. It comes equipped with a segment-largest 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and connected car technologies. It will be India’s first autonomous (Level 1) premium SUV. The Gloster will get autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system that automatically applies brakes with full force if it senses an imminent frontal collision. There will also be the frontal collision warning system providing a visual and audio alert to the driver if it detects a potential impact.

The MG Gloster will also receive advanced safety and security features like radar guided cruise control, automatic park assist, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, etc. The SUV will offer 64 colour ambient lighting system that helps illuminate control and switches on the instrument panel and dashboard.
