MG Gloster Arrives at Dealerships – 5 Segment First Features

In the premium SUV space, the MG Gloster will be gun up against the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4. Its prices are likely to start from Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). Here’re five segment-first features that will be offered by MG’s new 7-seater SUV.

1. Biggest Infotainment Unit

The Gloster will be equipped with a floating 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting latest smarphone applications. Just below the unit, there will be central AC vents and manual controls for the climate control system. Its arch rivals – Fortuner and Endeavour – offer a 9-inch and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Sync 3 voice recognition module respectively. 2. India’s First Autonomous SUV

The British carmaker says that the Gloster will be India’s first autonomous (level 1) premium SUV. It will come with autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system that automatically applies brakes with full force if it senses an imminent frontal collision. There will also be the frontal collision warning system providing a visual and audio alert to the driver if it detects a potential impact.

3. Hands-free Auto Parking

MG’s new 7-seater SUV will be the first car in its segment to offer hands-free auto parking system. It has sensors that work together to navigate the vehicle into a parking spot. 4. Adaptive Cruise Control

The Gloster will be the first car in its category to offer adaptive cruise control that uses laser, radar and cameras to monitor the road and maintain a set distance from the vehicle/object in front.

5. 64 Colour Ambient Lighting

We have reported that the MG Gloster will come with 64 colour ambient lighting system that helps illuminate control and switches on the instrument panel and dashboard. It also helps reduce dizziness and stress on the eyes and improve alertness.
