The MG Astor, the petrol iteration of the ZS EV, will lock horns against the cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and the newly-launched Volkswagen Taigun. The mid-size SUV could be priced as low as Rs 9 lakh for the entry-level variant and up to Rs 15 lakh for the top-end variant. Read – New MG Electric Compact SUV, Hatchback India Launch Details Out

For power, the MG Astor has two petrol engines – 1.5L VTi naturally aspirated and 1.3L turbocharged unit. While the former is good enough for 108bhp and 144Nm of torque, the latter makes power worth 138bhp and 220Nm of torque. The SUV model lineup doesn’t have diesel powertrain. While the naturally aspirated petrol motor comes with a 5-speed manual and an 8-step CVT automatic gearbox, the turbocharged unit can be had with a 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission only.
