Maruti Suzuki has registered a total sales of 164,056 units in February 2022. The company sold 137,607 units in month of February as against 1,47,383 units in the same month last year. MSIL registered OEM sales of 2,428 units in February 2022 as against 5,500 units in the same month last year.
The big update is that Maruti Suzuki has also registered its highest ever monthly exports of 24,021 units. In the same month last year, Maruti Suzuki exported 11,486 units. The total domestic + export sales record a negligeable drop, as MSIL continues to face shortage of electronic components.
In a statement, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “the shortage of electronic components had a minor impact on the production of vehicles which are primarily sold in domestic market. The company took all possible measures to minimise the impact.”
– The company’s entry-level cars including the Baleno, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Dzire, Tour S and Wagon R recorded a total sales of 77,795 units as against 80,517 units in the same month last year. This segment reported a year on year sales decline of 3.38 percent.
– MSIL sold 1,912 units of the Ciaz mid-sized sedan in February 2022 as against 1,510 units during the corresponding period in 2021. It reported a YOY sales increase of 26.62 percent.
– Maruti Suzuki sold 25,360 UVs (Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza and XL6) in February 2022, recording a marginal YOY sales decline. In the same month last year, MSIL sold 26,884 UVs.
– Maruti Eeco recorded 9,190 units, a YOY sales decline of 5.66 percent. The company also delivered 3,659 units of the Super Carry LCV.
Maruti Suzuki expects to increase sales as the supply of electronic components have improved significantly. The company has recently introduced the new Baleno, which has already clocked 25,000 bookings in less than 1 months. The company also plans to launch new Brezza and the updated Ertiga in the next 2 months.
