After releasing multiple images, MG Motor India has officially announced to launch the new MG ZS Electric on March 7, 2022. MG dealers have already started accepting pre-orders for the new model. It will come with noticeable design changes and upgraded interior along with a bigger battery pack.
The production of the new MG ZS Electric 2022 model has already been commenced at MG Motor’s Halol based plant in Gujarat. The SUV comes with cosmetic design changes. It gets a new blanked-off grille area with a charging port, sleeker LED headlamps with new LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), & a revised bumper. The SUV gets new 17-inch alloy wheels, new LED tail-lights and updated bumper.
The new MG ZS Electric shares the dashboard layout with the new Astor. It comes with a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The SUV will have a 7-inch digital instrument console, electronic power steering, a panoramic sunroof, rain sensing wipers, powered driver’s seat, a PM 2.5 filter, automatic AC & multiple USB charging ports. The second-row gets centre arm-rest with cupholders and center head-rest. It also gets rear air-conditioning vents, which was earlier not offered in the previous model.
The official specifications of the 2022 MG ZS EV are yet to be revealed. It is expected to be equipped with a larger 51kWh battery pack instead of the 44.5kWh unit in the outgoing model. The new battery pack is expected to offer a range of around 480km. The outgoing model is claimed to deliver a range of 419km.
