Maruti Suzuki Jimny – Zeta vs Alpha Variants

Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is the newest off-roader in the league. Opposed to its global 3-door version, the brand has introduced it in a 5-door avatar for the Indian market, making it a more acceptable offering even for family buyers. While its prices are yet to be revealed, its logbook has already been opened for advance reservations, and it has already garnered over 5,000 bookings.

Maruti Suzuki will offer this purpose-built off-roader in two variants: Zeta and Alpha. Both variants will be powered by the same 1.5-litre K15B 4-cylinder petrol engine with an idle start/stop function for better fuel efficiency. This power mill dishes out 103PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 134Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic unit, paired with Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4×4 drivetrain that also features a low-range gearbox. Both gearboxes are available regardless of trim level.

  • Fog lamps
  • Dark green glass

  • Power retractable ORVMs
  • Auto climate control
  • Cruise control

On the contrary, features like a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, rake limited-slip differential, front & rear welded tow hooks, all-black cabin, analogue instrument cluster with colour MID, fabric seats, near flat reclinable front seats, power-adjustable side mirrors, rear wiper & washer, rear accessory socket, adjustable headrests, steering mounted audio & telephony controls, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, and four speakers, six airbags, rear defogger, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, hill descent control, brake assist, rearview camera, ISOFIX child seat anchors, etc., are common between the two.
