Tata Sierra To Come In 4 and 5-seat Options; Lounge Version

Tata Motors has recently showcased the 4-door version of the Sierra concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. The company has confirmed that the new Tata Sierra will be launched in the country in 2025. Tata Motors has also confirmed that the Curvv SUV Coupe and the Harrier EV will be launched in our market in 2024.

Tata Motors has confirmed that the production version of the Sierra will look largely identical to the original concept. It will measure around 4.3-4.4 meters in length, and will sit above the Curvv SUV Coupe. The new Tata Sierra will be offered with a 5-seater configuration as standard. In fact, the top-spec model will come with a four-seater lounge version. The lounge version will get two captain seats which can be reclined and pulled back/front.

The production version is likely to come with ambient mood lighting, a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver display, an electric sunroof and electrically adjustable driver seat. For rear passengers, Tata Motors could add multiple USB chargers, a centre armrest with cup holders, and an Ottoman function. The SUV will also receive ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring and others. The new Tata Sierra SUV will be designed and developed on the Gen 2 platform or SIGMA architecture, which is a hybrid architecture. This is basically the heavily modified version of the ALFA modular platform, which underpins the Altroz & the Punch. The SUV will be offered with both ICE and electric powertrains.

The petrol version is likely to be powered by a new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 170bhp and 285Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be offered as standard. It could also receive a dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). The Tata Sierra electric version is likely to be fitted with a 60kWh battery pack with a front-axle mounted electric motor. The Sierra EV could also receive an AWD setup with two electric motors mounted on front and rear axles. It is likely to offer a range of around 500km on a single charge.
