Now, the company aims to achieve half the number of cars exported from here in the next 3 years. In order to boost its export business, Maruti Suzuki will leverage the global resources of Toyota Motor Corporation. In future, India will become the major sourcing hub for vehicles and components (including lithium-ion cells for EVs) for both automakers. In the next three years, Maruti Suzuki aims to export passenger vehicles and components worth up to $2.5 billion (Rs 20,000 crore). That means, there will be overseas shipments over 350,000 units with an average of Rs 5.5 lakh per unit.

Talking about Maruti Suzuki’s future plan, the company is planning to strengthen its SUV market with a range of new models. It has already introduced the second-generation Maruti Brezza that’s generating volume for the automaker. In the coming days, the company will roll out the much-awaited Maruti Grand Vitara that will go head-to-head against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the newly-launched Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It will be Maruti Suzuki’s first and India’s second strong hybrid SUV.

In early 2023, the Indo-Japanese automaker will unveil its two new SUVs – Baleno Cross and 5-door Jimny. The Maruti Baleno Cross will be based on the Baleno hatchback and share some of its design elements with the Futuro e-concept. The 5-door Maruti Jimny is likely to come with the Grand Vitara’s 1.5L K15C Dualjet engine with Suzuki’s AllGrip AWD system. Both SUVs will be sold via the brand’s premium Nexa dealership network.
