Maruti Suzuki Confirms Invicto MPV; Launch On 5th July

Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that its upcoming new flagship MPV will be called ‘Invicto’. The model, which is essentially the re-badged Toyota Innova Hycross, will go on sale on 5th July 2023. Toyota’s Bidadi facility will serve as production hub for the new Maruti Invicto. Toyota Kirloskar Motor will supply 9,000 – 10,000 units of the Innova Hycross to the Indo-Japanese automaker on annual basis.

The Invicto MPV will be the first Maruti Suzuki to be available with automatic-only option and get ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) tech. It will be the second Maruti offering to come with strong hybrid powertrain and a panoramic sunroof.

Maruti Engage MPV

The higher variants of the new Maruti Invicto will be offered with the 2.0L strong hybrid powertrain, making 184bhp with an e-Drive transmission. The lower variants will come with the 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine that dishes out a peak power of 172bhp and 205Nm of torque with a CVT automatic gearbox.

Toyota Innova Hycross petrol NA and strong hybrid versions are claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of 16.71kmpl and 23.24kmpl respectively. Mileage figures of the new Invicto MPV are likely to be similar to its donor model.

Maruti Engage front

Similar to the Innova Hycross, the new Maruti MPV can be had with either 7-seats or 8-seats configuration. With respect to safety, the model will offer 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program and traction control.

The feature list will also include a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, memory function for driver’s seats, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, 9-speaker JBL audio system, a 360 degree camera, paddle shifters, tec.
