Hyundai Motor India is all set to foray into the micro SUV segment with the Exter that’s slated to go on sale on July 10, 2023. Here, it will go head-to-head against cars like Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Fronx and Citroen C3. Hardik Pandya, the all-round Indian cricketer, has been assigned as a brand ambassador for the mini SUV. Hyundai has already revealed its variants, safety features and design details, while its interior was a mystery till date.
Recently, a set of clear spy images have emerged on the web revealing its interior layout and features. The Hyundai Exter has a 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with a leather-wrap and mounted audio and cruise controls. Just behind the steering, you will notice a digital instrument cluster that will have an option for Hindi language. There is a touchscreen infotainment system along with lots of physical buttons. The unit is likely to support both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The micro SUV will also be packed with the segment-first dashcam with front and rear cameras, an electric sunroof, rectangular AC vents on the centre console and circular vents on either side, automatic climate control and burglar alarm. The interior door handles have a brushed aluminum finish.
Hyundai’s new Exter will be available with 3 engine-gearbox combinations – 1.2L petrol with a 5-speed manual gearbox, 1.2L petrol with a 5-speed AMT unit and a CNG version with a 5-speed manual transmission. The regular gasoline motor pushes out a peak power of 82bhp and 114Nm of torque. The CNG setup will be good enough for 68bhp and 95Nm.
The new Hyundai Exter has been confirmed in 9 colour options, namely, Titan Grey, Starry Night, Ranger Khaki, Cosmic Blue, Fiery Red, Atlas White, Cosmic Blue with Abyss Black, Atlas Black with Abyss Black and Ranger Khaki with Abyss Black.
