Maruti Celerio CNG Bookings Open At Dealership Level

Maruti Celerio CNG will be the first launch from the Indo-Japanese automaker in 2022. The model is ready to hit showrooms in coming days. While its official launch date and booking details are yet to be revealed, select dealers have already started accepting pre-orders for an initial sum of Rs 11,000. Compared to the regular model, the CNG version will be slightly more fuel efficient. Under the hood, the upcoming Maruti Celerio CNG will employ the same 1.0L, 3-cylinder Dualjet petrol engine that will be coupled to a factory-fitted CNG kit. One must note that the power and torque figures of the CNG variant could be slightly different. The existing gasoline unit returns a claimed power of 66bhp and a maximum torque of 89Nm. For performing transmission duties, the hatchback will have a 5-speed manual gearbox.

2021 Maruti Celerio CNG

The hatchback model lineup is currently available in four trims – LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. The CNG kit could be offered on select variants. No changes will be made to its design and features. Similar to the regular petrol-powered model, the Celerio CNG will offer a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted controls, a height adjustable driver seat, push start/stop button, rear parking sensors and 15-inch alloy wheels.

Prices of the new Maruti Celerio CNG will be announced in a couple of weeks. Its petrol-powered model is available within the price range of Rs 4.99 lakh – Rs 6.49 lakh. There are three automatic variants – VXi AMT, ZXi AMT and ZXi+ AMT – priced at Rs 6.13 lakh, Rs 6.44 lakh and Rs 6.94 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. Once launched, the hatchback’s CNG version will take directly on the upcoming Tata Tiago CNG.
