2022 Maruti Brezza CNG Launch By April – New Details Emerge

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker is currently dominating the CNG segment, as it offers multiple CNG powered vehicles in the market. The company is currently selling the CNG versions of Alto, S-Presso, WagonR and the Ertiga. The CNG line-up will further increase with the arrival of new Celerio CNG in the end of January 2022.

Moreover, Maruti Suzuki is testing the CNG versions of the Swift and the Dzire. A new report claims that the Indo-Japanese brand is planning to introduce a CNG-powered version of the new Brezza that will be launched by April 2022.

Maruti Suzuki is looking at CNG, flex-fuel and hybrid powertrains as an alternative to diesel. The company will have CNG variant for every model in the near future. CV Raman, CTO, MSIL said that “CNG offers the lowest cost proposition in terms of total cost of ownership.”

2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza

Maruti Suzuki will give a major update to the Vitara Brezza. The company will ditch the “Vitara” name, and the sub-4 meter SUV will be called the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The 2022 Maruti Brezza CNG is likely to be introduced alongside the petrol version.

The 2022 Maruti Brezza will be powered by the 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that produces 104bhp and 138Nm of torque. The CNG version is likely to be offered with the same powertrain; however, there will be a marginal drop in power and torque figures. The SUV could share the powertrain with the Ertiga CNG, which offers 92bhp and 122Nm of torque. This is 12bhp and 16Nm less compared to the regular petrol variant.

The Ertiga CNG is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 26.08km/kg. It is expected that the 2022 Maruti Brezza CNG will offer higher mileage, as it is lighter than the Ertiga.

2022 Maruti Brezza – Top Changes

The new model will come with significant design changes; however, the overall profile will remain the same. The SUV will retain the body panels; however, it will have all-new grille, headlamp set-up, bumper, a revised clamshell bonnet and front fenders. It will be based on the current C platform that underpins the S-Cross and the Vitara. At the rear, the SUV will have restyled tailgate, new wrap-around tail-lights and new bumper with faux skid plate.

The cabin of the new Brezza will come with several high-end features, which are missing in the current car. It will get a factory-fitted electric sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, cruise control & paddle shifters. It will also come with a sim-based connectivity suite that will add many connected features geofencing, real time tracking, intrusion detection, find your car and others.
