Maruti Suzuki has the biggest stall at the 2023 Auto Expo that’s going on at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. At the event, the carmaker has showcased the Matte Black editions of its two popular SUVs – Brezza and the Grand Vitara. Both models have been painted in Matte Black colour scheme.
Save for paint job, no changes have been made to the Maruti Brezza Matte Black and Grand Vitara Matte Black models. Just so you know, the Indo-Japanese automaker recently introduced the Nexa Black Edition in order to celebrate 40 years of its Indian operations.
Powering the new Maruti Brezza is the 1.5L, K15C petrol engine that makes 103bhp and 137Nm. The motor has been benefited with the mild hybrid technology. Transmissions on offer are a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic with paddle shifters. Maruti Suzuki claims that the new Brezza offers a mileage of 20.15kmpl (MT) and 19.80kml (AT).
The newly-launched Maruti Grand Vitara shares its powertrains with the Toyota Hyryder. Its mild hybrid version uses a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine that’s good for 103bhp. The same motor powers multiple Maruti Suzuki cars. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
The AWD system is exclusively offered on the top-end mild hybrid variant. The Grand Vitara is said to deliver a fuel efficiency of 21.11kmpl (MT), 20.58kmpl (AT) and 19.38kmpl (MT AWD).
The strong hybrid variant of the Grand Vitara SUV comes with Toyota’s 92bhp, 1.5-litre, three-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine coupled to an electric motor. The setup makes a peak power of 79bhp and 141Nm of torque. The combined power stands at 115hp. The strong hybrid version is offered with an e-CVT gearbox. Maruti claims that it returns a fuel economy of 27.97kpl.
