We informed you earlier that Mahindra is working on a new brand logo, which is expected to be introduced with the new XUV700. The new Mahindra Logo has been leaked on the web world; however, the final version could receive few tweaks before its official introduction.
The current logo has an oval with three lines that meet at a point. On the other hand, the new logo is a simple upper case ‘M’. The current logo was first introduced in the year 2000 following the reorganisation of the company by the then Managing Director. It was first launched with the Scorpio SUV in 2002.
The new generation Mahindra XUV700 is most likely to make global debut on August 15, 2021. Launch could take place on October 2, (Gandhi Jayanti) 2021. This is the same strategy Mahindra followed during the introduction of the second generation Thar lifestyle SUV.
The new Mahindra XUV700 will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and the MG Hector. It is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 22 lakh. The SUV will be designed on the all-new monocoque platform with a provision of 4WD system. It will be the most powerful SUV in its category. The new XUV700 will be offered with two engine options – a 2.2L turbo petrol with power close to 200bhp and a 2.2L turbo diesel with expected power output of 185bhp. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
The new Mahindra XUV700 will come with segment-first ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) with features like adaptive cruise control, drowsiness detection, blind spot detection, autonomous braking and lane-keep assist. The SUV will also get air purifier with virus protection, Smart Door Handles, Auto Booster Headlamps, Personalised Safety Alert System and the Segment-Largest Panoramic Sunroof.
