Mahindra XUV700 Javelin Edition Confirmed

We informed you earlier that Mahindra has trademarked the Javelin nameplate, which was rumoured to be used for a special edition XUV700. Anand Mahindra has announced that the three gold medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics will receive the specially designed XUV700 SUVs. He confirmed that the new model will be called the Mahindra XUV700 Javelin Edition.

The new XUV700 Javelin Edition will be designed for Neeraj Chopra, Avani Lekhara and Sumit Antil. Anand Mahindra confirmed the special edition via a tweet directed at Pratap Bose, the Chief Design Officer, Auto & Farm Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra. He tweeted, “An awesome sporting feat. Without exception. His performance demands an XUV 700. India now has TWO Golds in this ancient sport. @BosePratap Please design another Javelin edition of the XUV700 that we will be privileged to gift this incredible sportsperson.”

Details about the new XUV700 Javelin Edition is yet to be revealed. It is expected to receive cosmetic design changes and special colour options. Mahindra will also tweak two XUV700 Javelin Editions for two Gold Medalists at Tokyo Paralympic 2020. These models will receive special modifications for the differently abled to improve the ingress-egress.

Mahindra XUV700 Details

Mahindra has announced the prices of the 5-seater variant of the XUV700. It is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh for the base MX petrol manual and goes up to Rs 14.99 lakh for the top-end AX5 petrol manual. The company will announce the prices of the 7-seater XUV700 and other variants of the XUV700 5-seater in the coming months.

Mahindra dealers have already started accepting pre-orders for the SUV at a token amount of Rs 25,000. The Mahindra XUV700 is offered in two trims – MX Series and AdrenoX Series. The AdrenoX series is offered in 3 variants – AX3, AX5 and AX7.
