Mahindra XUV700 Deliveries From 30th October; 9 Months Waiting Period

Mahindra has officially announced that the deliveries for the petrol powered XUV700 SUV will commence from October 30, 2021. The deliveries for the Mahindra XUV700 diesel will commence in the last week of November 2021. The new model has been an instant hit, as it bagged over 65,000 bookings in just two weeks. Mahindra had started accepting pre-orders for the SUV on October 7, 2021.

Mahindra will communicate the delivery timelines to customers via dealerships from October 27, 2021 for petrol and diesel variants. The company has joined hands with a global consulting company to devise and implement an algorithm based process. Mahindra claims that the main objective of this partnership is to streamline the delivery process of customers. The delivery process will be based on a combination of parameters including the quantum of bookings at the city & dealer level, the ratio of online bookings at dealer counters and variant-level production feasibility based on spply chain constraints.

Mahindra is reportedly planning to deliver close to 25,000 XUV700 SUVs by February 2022. Going by these figures, it is believed that the new model will have a waiting period of over 9 months – depending upon variants, city and dealership. The petrol XUV700 is priced between 12.49 lakh and Rs 21.29 lakh, while the diesel model is priced at Rs 12.99 lakh for base MX variant and Rs 22.99 lakh for the top-end variant.

The new Mahindra XUV700 is available with two engine options – a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel and a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol. The petrol engine churns out 200bhp of power and 380Nm of torque. The diesel engine offers two states of tunes – 155bhp/360Nm for MX trim and 185bhp/420Nm (450NM with AT) with AdrenoX AX trim. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

The diesel engine offers 4 driving modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom and Custom. These drive modes are claimed to alter performance and steering response. The new XUV700 5-seater variant rivals the Tata Harrier and the MG Hector, while the 7-seater model is positioned against the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the Hyundai Alcazar.
