Mahindra XUV300 Segment-First Features, Engine Details Revealed

The top-end Mahindra XUV300 W8 and W8 (O) diesel variants will be equipped with micro-hybrid system

The much anticipated Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV will finally go on sale in India on February 14, 2019. Ahead of the launch, technical details and comfort and convenience features of the XUV300 have been revealed on the internet. The SUV will be equipped with segment-first features such as dual-zone climate control system, seven airbags and factory-fitted sunroof.

According to the AutoCar India, the top-end Mahindra XUV300 W8 (O) model will offer dual-zone automatic climate control, front parking sensors, a factory-fitted electric sunroof and seven airbags. This model will ride on 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The W8 variant will receive a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with in-built navigation and it will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. What’s interesting is that the Mahindra XUV300 top-end W8 and W8 (O) variants will also feature micro-hybrid technology for the diesel engine option. The entry-level W4 variant will sport LED taillights, halogen headlamps and a chrome garnish for the front grille. This model rides on 16-inch steel wheels devoid of wheel caps. The top-spec W8 and W8 (O) variants will also receive projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, electrically adjustable and foldable wing mirrors with integrated LED blinkers, reverse parking camera and rear washer and wiper. Adding to it, the Mahindra XUV300 will come equipped with a colour instrument cluster, leather seats, push-button start, tyre pressure monitoring system, height adjustable driver’s seat, automatic headlamps and cruise control.

Dual front airbags, all-4 disc brakes and ABS with EBD will come as standard. The W8 variant will also get ESC (Electronic Stability Control), hill-hold assist and front and rear fog lamps along with ISOFIX child seat mounts. Video – Mahindra XUV300 Shows Off-road capabilities

The Mahindra XUV300 will be available with 2 engine options – 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel. The petrol engine is claimed to offer the segment-best torque value rated at 200Nm. On the other hand, the diesel engine produces 123bhp of power and segment-best 300Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The Mahindra XUV300 is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 7.5 lakh – Rs 11 lakh. It will directly rival the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and the upcoming Hyundai Styx.
