The second-generation Mahindra Thar 2020 has been launched in the Indian market. Available in 3 trim level – AX, AX (O) and LX – the new model is available at a starting price of Rs 9.80 lakh, which goes up to Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom). The company is offering multiple engine and gearbox combinations, seating options and three different roof options with the new-gen Thar.
Adding to it, the new Mahindra Thar 2020 also comes with a wide range of accessories. The Mahindra Genuine accessories offer visual as well as functional upgrades. It comes with two accessories packages – Dark Lord and Chrome Hero. The Mahindra Thar 2020 Dark Lord accessories include wheel arch cladding, piano black tail-lamp appliques, side & black shoulder appliques, piano black headlamp appliques, front grille cladding, front bumper cladding, front bumper air-dam kit, wheel arch cladding, side & black shoulder appliques and piano black mirror appliques.
The Chrome door package offers accessories like chrome rear reflector applique, chrome tail-lamp enclosure, side body cladding, chrome door handles, chrome headlamp enclosure, bug deflector, chrome front fog lamp enclosure, chrome front DRL applique, chrome door handle, chrome insert rain visor and chrome mirror appliques.
Exterior accessories include body side decal, OE plastic side step set, 18-inch machined alloy wheels, etc. Inside the cabin, customers can opt for different types of seat covers, and floor mats. The infotainment & sound system can also be upgraded using Vibe mono amplifier, vibe passive subwoofer, vibe components speaker set and coaxials speaker set. For park assist, the Mahindra Genuine accessory offers front parking sensor and heads-up display. Other accessories include tail-gate mounted snack tray, magnetic sun shades set, door hinge step, steering wheel cover, and front and rear mud flap.
The new Thar 2020 is available with 2 engine options – a 132bhp, 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel and a 152bhp, 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. 4WD system comes as standard.
