Mahindra & Ola To Unveil Multiple New Products Tomorrow

India’s 77th Independence Day will undoubtedly be a moment of pride for all of us. Mahindra & Mahindra and Ola Electric, the two indigenous vehicle manufacturers, are poised to unveil their new range of products on August 15, 2023.

Mahindra has already confirmed the debut of the Scorpio N pickup truck and Thar EV concepts through official teasers that will premiere in South Africa, alongside a lineup of new Mahindra commercial vehicles. On the other hand, Ola Electric will introduce the MoveOS4 and an electric motorcycle. Let’s delve into the key details of the upcoming models that we know so far.

Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup/Thar.e

New Mahindra pickup Scorpio N

Touted as the ‘Global Pik Up Vision’ concept, the Mahindra Scorpio N pickup truck (codenamed Z121) will feature an aggressive front grille, black alloy wheels with off-road tires, vertically stacked taillamps, and a spare wheel mounted in the bed. The pickup could be available in single/double-cab body styles and a tray-back bed option. The model is likely to share its engines with its internal combustion engine-powered counterpart.

The teaser reveals that the Mahindra Thar.e concept will showcase a rectangular black grille with ‘THAR.e’ inscribed on it, squarish LED headlamps, and a black front bumper. The electric off-roader will be based on the dedicated ‘Born Electric’ platform, ensuring a lightweight body structure, more space for batteries, and an extended range. The Thar EV will feature a 4X4 drivetrain system along with a quad-motor arrangement. Speculations also suggest that the model might offer crab walk capability.

Ola Electric Bike/MoveOS 4

The upgraded Ola MoveOS 4 operating system is set to debut tomorrow, with a rollout for users planned towards the end of this year. These updates will be delivered over-the-air. Reports suggest the inclusion of a Concert Mode (an upgrade over the Party Mode), allowing multiple scooters to synchronize their lights with music. Mood settings might also receive more options.

New Ola S1 Variant

The upcoming Ola electric bike will make its concept debut alongside the MoveOS4. The range is expected to feature a new Ola electric scooter called Ola S1X, priced at under Rs 1 lakh, making it the most affordable offering from the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer.
