Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus 9-Seater SUV Launch Soon – Report

Mahindra & Mahindra recently introduced the Bolero Neo sub-4 meter SUV as a replacement to the TUV300. The model comes with improved styling, slightly upmarket interior and BS6 compliant diesel engine. The biggest change has been made to its underpinning. The 2021 Mahindra Bolero Neo has been built on the new ladder-frame chassis that will also be used in the upcoming third-generation Mahindra Scorpio.

Speaking to a media publication, Veejay Nakra, CEO-Automotive Division, Mahindra and Mahindra, has revealed that the company will soon roll out the longer version of the Bolero Neo compact SUV. Called the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus, the new model is likely to measure around 400-410mm longer than the standard model. It will be a 9-seater SUV with three rows of seats.

The additional third row is likely to offer side facing bench-type seats placed in the boot area. However, its platform, design language and components will remain unchanged. The Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus will feature the new headlamps with LED DRLs, updated front bumper with new fog lamps, the brand’s new 6-slat chrome grille, blacked out C-pillar, plastic cladding all around the body, new alloys and X-type spare wheel cover with ‘Bolero’ moniker and a spoiler. On the feature, the upcoming Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus will offer 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted control, a new instrument cluster with a new MID display, new tilt adjustable power steering wheel, air conditioning with Eco mode, electronically adjustable ORVMs, height adjustable driver’s seat, front arm rest and many more goodies.

Under the hood, the Bolero Neo Plus is likely to employ 2.2L diesel engine with the manual gearbox. The automatic variant (AMT or torque converter) might be introduced at a later stage. The Bolero Neo is currently available with the BS6-ready, 100bhp, 1.5L, 3-cylinder diesel motor and a 5-speed manual gearbox. Features such as engine start-stop technology and ESS (emergency signal system) and Eco drive modes enhance its fuel efficiency.
