Jeep H6 7-Seater SUV To Get 200bhp Diesel Engine; Debut This Year

Jeep India recently introduced the updated Compass SUV in the country. Now, the American carmaker is all set to launch the locally assembled new Jeep Wrangler on 15th March 2021. The company has also planned a subcompact SUV, a mid-size SUV and a 7-seater SUV for the Indian market. According to a fresh media report, the Jeep H6 7-seater SUV will have its world premiere towards the end of 2021. Its launch, however, will take place in May or June 2022.

The H6 will enter into production in April next year at the company’s Chakan based plant. The same facility will also serve as global production hub for the SUV. In India, the upcoming new Jeep 7-seater SUV will face challenge from multiple cars right from Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Ford Endeavour to Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace and Skoda Kodiaq.

The upcoming Jeep SUV will underpin the Compass’s platform and share its powertrain with its younger sibling. The model will feature the same 2.0L, 4-cylinder Multijet turbocharged diesel engine with a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Though, the carmaker will calibrate it for generating power worth 200bhp. Compared to the Compass, the upcoming Jeep H6 SUV will be significantly (173bhp) more powerful. The higher trim of the SUV might be exclusively offered with AWD (all-wheel-drive) system. Check Out – Digitally Rendered Upcoming Jeep Sub-4 Meter SUV

Most of its design elements will be similar to the updated Jeep Compass. What distinguish both models will be more upright rear section, longer rear doors, wider C-column and flatter trunk lid. The bigger SUV will have an additional third row of seats and captain chairs for the middle row passengers. Some of its key features might include a panoramic sunroof, cooled seats, cruise control, electronic stability program, vehicle stability, hill launch and descent, traction control and more.

More details on the upcoming new Jeep 7-seater SUV are likely to be revealed in near future. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
