Revolt Motors will introduce a new electric motorcycle early next year. Speaking to PTI, Anjali Rattan, Promoter of Rattan India Enterprises Ltd (REL) has revealed that the company is working on the new low-priced Revolt RV1 electric bike that’s likely to enter into production in January 2022. It will be 100% indigenized e-bike that will be manufactured at the company’s Manesar based plant in Haryana. While Revolt has been importing its e-bike components from China, now it’s planning to switch entirely to Indian supplies by December 2021.
The new Revolt electric bike will be an all-new model and it will eventually replace the Revolt RV300. Rattan further revealed that REL has introduced a new investment cycle in tech-driven transformative with Revolt. It will capitalize on businesses with new-age technologies and grow it multiple folds for the next 5 years.
Factors such as revised FAME II incentives, reduced GST on the e-bikes and incentives offered by several state governments have made the electric bikes more affordable than the petrol motorcycles. Therefore, the two-wheeler industry has been witnessing a quick shift towards the electric vehicles. Due to the high demand, Revolt Motors paused the e-bikes’ bookings multiple times in the last two months. Now, the company aims to produce 5 lakh units on annual basis in the next 5 years.
Recently, Domino’s Pizza entered into a partnership with RattanIndia backed Revolt Motors under which it will procure the entire existing inventory of RV300 electric bike. It will progressively acquire the customized Revolt model to convert its existing petrol bike fleet into e-bikes. These motorcycles will be specially customized for Jubilant Foordworks to suit its business requirements. At present, the two-wheeler maker sells Revolt RV300 and RV400 electric motorcycles in the country.
