Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has launched the GL63 AMG in the Indian car market for Rs.1.66 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai). It is basically a sportier version of the GL-Class SUV and will come to India via the CBU (Completely built-in unit) route. The company has already launched the G63 AMG, E63 AMG and the SLK55 AMG in the country.

Mercedes-Benz GL63 AMG Exterior
The GL63 AMG looks identical to the standard model but it gets AMG package which makes it sporty. The exteriors of the SUV get special AMG bumpers, side skirts, quad exhaust and the 21-inch AMG wheels. The front fascia gets LED daytime running lamps and LED fog lamps. The side profile has AMG moniker on the sides near the front wheels arches as well as on the boot.

Inside the cabin, the vehicle gets several advanced features which seems like directly lifted from the standard model. The seats are covered in beige-white leather, while the dashboard and interior trim gets grey leather. Its door handles gets chrome inserts while the other features include AMG steering wheel and Active curve control. This model sports the 2-DIN infotainment system, climate control and multi-functional steering wheel. The second and third row has their own climate control system, while the second row gets LCD screens.
Mercedes-Benz GL63 AMG Engine & transmission
Under the hood, the GL63 AMG gets 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that churns out a maximum power output of 550bhp and 760Nm of top torque. Power is transmitted to 4MATIC all-wheel drive system via a 7G-tronic automatic transmission gearbox. The vehicle zooms pass 100kmph from rest in just 4.9 seconds and catches a top speed of 280kmph. Its suspension set-up includes ‘AMG ride control’ package of adaptive, self leveling air suspension and active anti roll-bars.
