KTM 790 Adventure India Launch Soon – Key Details

 KTM 790 Adventure, which was first previewed at the 2019 India Bike Week, was slated to launch in India in late 2020. However, it didn’t happen. Now, it seems that the bikemaker is finally gearing up to launch the premium adventure bike in the country. Recently, the model was spotted at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan based plant near Pune. The spotted model is the production-ready version painted in the signature Orange colour scheme. Upfront, it carries the conventional V-shaped split headlamp. The fuel tank shrouds have ‘790’ imprint. One must note that the tall windscreen and rear view mirrors aren’t placed on the model. You can also notice a 5.0-inch fully digital TFT instrument display. It gets switchable off-road ABS (anti-lock braking system) and controls cornering along with the lean-sensitive traction control. The KTM 790 Adventure also offers four riding modes – Street, Off-road, Rain and Rally (optional).

For power, the KTM 790 Adventure uses a 799cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that makes power worth 94bhp and 88Nm of torque. It’s the same motor that does duty in the KTM 790 Duke. Though, the adventure bike will get its BS6/Euro5 tuned version. Suspension duties will be carried by WP Apex 43mm USD forks and a monoshock unit with 200mm travel at the front and rear axles respectively. The new KTM adventure bike comes fitted with wire-spoke 21-inch front and 18-inch wheels with dual purpose tyres. It carries a weight of 189kg and offers a ground clearance of 233mm.

The company will also launch the new KTM RC200 and RC390 in the month of July or August. Unofficial bookings of both models have already been commenced at token amount of ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000. While the 2021 KTM RC200 will receive a fully digital LCD instrument console with upgraded graphics, the new RC390 will get a new TFT display and a quickershifter.
