Kia Sonet X Line Coming Very Soon – What To Expect?

The South Korean automaker is ready to expand the Sonet subcompact SUV model lineup with the addition of a new sportier variant. Called the Kia Sonet X Line, the model will get a few sportier cosmetic enhancements over the regular version. Ahead of its market launch, the carmaker released a teaser video showing its front grille, LED DRLs and pronounced bonnet featuring the brand’s logo. While official details of the Sonet X Line variant will be revealed in coming weeks, it’s likely to come in Matte Graphite paint scheme.

The black-out treatment on the ORVMs, piano black finish on the grille, faux skid plates and fog lamps assembly will further enhance its sporty appearance. The new Kia Sonet X Line might be offered with the bigger alloy wheels painted in Matte Graphite finish. At the back, the model is likely to feature an ‘X-Line’ badge and a dark chrome bar connecting the taillamps. The piano black treatment will also be seen on its shark fin antenna, rear skid plate, dual exhaust taillamps and tailgate garnish.

Interior is likely to have sporty dark theme along with the dark leatherette upholstery with honeycomb pattern and contrasting Grey stitching. On the feature front, the Sonet X Line will offer wireless phone charger, leatherette door trim and upholstery, ventilated front seats, air purifier, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, UVO connected car tech, 7 speaker Bose audio system, voice commands, front parking sensors, traction control, drive modes, hill start assist, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, 6 airbags and more. The Kia Sonet X Line variant will be offered with the 1.5L turbo diesel and 1.0L petrol engines paired to a 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed DCT gearbox respectively. The oil burner makes power worth 113bhp with 250Nm of torque and the turbo petrol unit delivers 118bhp with 172Nm.

The sportier variant of the Sonet will be based on the range-topping GTX Plus trim and it’s expected to be priced around Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 premium over the GTX Plus.
