Kia Motors has recently launched the Seltos SUV in the Indonesian market. If reports are to be believed, the Korean brand is ready to launch the new Sonet compact SUV in Indonesia. The Kia Sonet compact SUV has recently been launched in the Indian market. The report further claims that the prices of the Sonet have also been leaked for the Indonesian market.
The Kia Sonet sub-4 meter SUV price for the Indonesian market starts at 174 million Rupiah (Approx INR 8.56 lakh) for manual transmission. The automatic variant costs 181 million Rupiah (Approx INR 8.90 lakh). It is expected that the estimated selling price of the Kia Sonet will lie in the range of 260 million (Approx INR 12.79 lakh) to 270 million Rupiah (Approx INR 13.35 lakh).
In India, the Kia Sonet is available in 3 engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel. The turbocharged diesel engine offers two states of tunes – 99bhp/240Nm with 6MT and 113bhp/250Nm with 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The turbocharged petrol engine produces 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 7-speed DCT and iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission). Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the NA engine produces 82bhp and 113Nm of torque.
Similar to the India-spec model, the Kia Sonet for the Indonesian market will offer high-end comfort and convenience features. The SUV has been recieving an excellent response from buyers. In just 25 days, the company recorded over 25,000 bookings with 1000 bookings per day. The compact SUV commands a waiting period of around 6 months.
