Suzuki V-Strom 160 Entry-Level ADV Leaked In Patent Images

Japanese two-wheeler automaker, Suzuki and its Chinese partner Haojue is readying an all-new entry-level 160cc adventure motorcycle that is likely to inspire the new Suzuki V-Strom 160. A new set of patent image reveals that the new adventure motorcycle shares design cues from the Suzuki V-Strom 1050.

The front nose is heavily inspired from the bigger Suzuki V-Strom. The vertically stacked headlamp is expected to be an all-LED unit. In fact, the motorcycle is expected to feature LED indicators and tail-lamps. There is a large windscreen placed right above the headlamp. The driver can adjust the windscreen. It features a high-mounted handlebar with integrated handguards, and a fully-digital instrument console.

The Suzuki V-Strom 160 has muscular tank and stepped single-piece seat. The motorcycle should offer upright riding stance. At the back, the entry-level adventure bike gets sleek tail with a large grab handle. There are slots below the rear seats to fix panniers to carry luggage. The motorcycle gets multi-spoke alloy wheels and wheel-spoke mounted disc. It will feature a single-channel ABS system.

For suspension mechanism, the motorcycle gets telescopic forks at the front and monoshock unit (adjustable for preload) at the back. It is expected to share the engine with the Haojue DR160S, which is on sale in the Chinese market. It has a 162cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that produces 15bhp at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.

In the Chinese market, the new adventure motorcycle to be sold under the Haojue brand. The motorcycle could be introduced as the Suzuki V-Strom 160 in select international markets. It is speculated that the Japanese brand could develop a smaller V-Strom 250 ADV for ASIAN markets. This model could feature the Gixxer’s 250cc engine that produces 26.5bhp and 22.2Nm.
