Kia Motors has teased a new product on social media. The teaser reveals an image of an apple and a book, along with a text – “The one who asked “why?”. Adding to it, the post has a caption that says “coming soon”.
The teaser image refers to Newton’s discovery of gravity. This could be the teaser for the new Kia Seltos Gravity Edition. This edition was launched in South Korea in July 2020. It is most likely to be the top-of-the-line variant, and will receive multiple changes inside and outside. The model also gets more safety features as standard. The changes make it look different from the regular variants.
The Kia Seltos Gravity comes equipped with a bespoke, chromed front grille with 3-dimensional design elements. It rides on newly developed, dual-tone 18-inch machined alloy wheels. The company has added silver finish to the ORVMs, door garnish as well as the rear skid plate.
The cabin of the Kia Seltos Gravity is finished in an exclusive grey colour scheme. The Korean-spec model also gets high-end safety and security features such as forward collision prevention assistance system and rear passenger notification. In terms of features, the Gravity Edition gets 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, UVO connected car tech, digital instrument console, premium Bose sound system, automatic AC, a wireless phone charger and remote engine start. The SUV also gets lane keep assist and high-beam assist functions.
If media reports are to be believed, Kia will present the updated Seltos SUV on April 27, 2021. The SUV will be equipped with a panoramic sunroof, which is missing in the current variant. The Seltos Gravity Edition is likely to be offered with existing engine options – a 113bhp, 1.5L petrol, a 113bhp, 1.5L diesel and a 138bhp, 1.4L turbo-petrol. A six-speed manual gearbox is available as standard, while automatic options will be offered with all engine options.
